thanks all

i’m off to the south coast with the ms.
it’s about a two hour drive from the northside where i live and the southside – say mclaren vale known as ‘the southern vales’..
i only ever see the otherside of town about once every two years so its always fresh.
going to see two microbreweries, perry’s nursery, the organic supply store down that way and maybe an op shop, coffee shop and a eating house.
thanks cyas tomorrow.

This is one of the brewhouses we visited at the southern vales. Five homebrews icluding indian pale ale, pale ale, 2 lagers and apilsener i think. quite nice gourmet lunch with views of vineyards and a kitchen garden (see photos) but beer brewed in vistoria. there was a friendly fantail watching us eat.
The local Goodieson brewery has all the stainless still fermenters on display in a beer tasting shed and a free tasting. we bought the a couple of six packs – maibock – a filtered hi-strength german brew and – a wheat beer – where south australian wheat is malted in port adelaide

P1 – a tunnel framing distant view
P2 – willunga old courthouse – worth preserving
P3 – hand made gum seating is a trademark of willunga main street
P4 – salt harvested at the dry creek saltpans – on the way home i stopped because i don’t often see this much salt.

yep she was fine. altho’ she’s told to take it easy she has to do some walking or else her legs would cease up (medical term escapes me atm).
the filtered german beer is for her LOL

They didn’t know what to do with gold in those days.. They did know what to do with salt.

I suppose…you could preserve food ( = good) for future provender, with salt…but you can’t eat gold…

There’s a world salt shortage? Should I lay my favourite salt in? It won’t go off, that’s the good thing…

more like a world glut.
i have had a few gourmet salt addictions – r….mer? vegisalt, celery salt – all about $7 for a little cylinder full.
i’m back on the cooking salt – presented in a little pinch bowl on the table – very cheap – $2 a kilo

r…mer should be – ‘herbamare’

i think the ‘mare’ is french for mer?
anyrate its good stuff but very expensive and not worth the cost because most of these ingredients are better incorporated in the cooking rather than in the salt. contents are listed as -

“Sea salt (89.7%), vegetables, herbs and spices (celery*, leek*, cress*, onions*, chives*, chilli*, pepper*, parsley*, lovage*, garlic*, horseradish*, basil*, marjoram*, rosemary*, thyme*), kelp (with trace iodine).*Organically grown Certified by bio.inspecta AG”

I have the cooking salt, the rock sea salt, and salt flakes…just love the salt flakes on my salads etc…no difference in taste whatever but I just love it for some reason…
