At least at my place – this year’s shitfullest invader…

Moth Vine – Araujia sericifera

Also known as: White Bladder-flower, Cruel Plant, Kapok Vine, Milk Vine, Calico Vine, A. hortorom, A. sericiflora, A. Majoralis Arsus Painus

It proliferates wildly from its large choco shaped seed pods and the white sap that it exudes eats flesh like Zombies!

well – it’s like a native bush bean (Marsdenia) – it’s a pear-shaped follicle full of seeds which have fibrous tails (think about eating hair extensions stuck to dry lentils), and the follicle goes from tough and semi-woody full of caustic sap (like the sap used to scarify young men in initiation ceremonies), to being dry and woody and split.

Sounds good?

I got a tiny spot of sap on my leg today while pulling them… washed it off after about 30 seconds.

Left a bleached white spot.

Marsdenia actually taste nutty if picked before the seed matures and roasted.
