Well, they didn’t get to their destination, so clearly they didn’t go far enough…

US financial institutions are being pounded with high-powered cyber attacks that some suspect are being orchestrated by Iran as payback for political sanctions.

i notice that virgin obviously know they are at fault for charging so much for food on board – hence no charges

eh? They can charge as much as they like and really, 10 bucks for a decent sanga is not that bad, reasonable in fact, especially when you are talking airport/airline food. The bloke might have been a bona fide nutter as the last para says he was taken for psych assessment.

What makes you think this Virgin sanga is any better than a petrol station one?

It may not be, but in my experience, airline sangas are a bit better. And still, for a roast chicken and salad sanga, served in the vicinity of an airport 10 bucks is ok in my books. The buggers normally charge like wounded bulls but that is only about twice what you would pay from a specialist gourmet sanga shop.

It may be, but it isn’t compulsory to buy it.

Ah well, next time you fly from Darwin with Virgin, leave an hour early and go and have a nice feed at Subway before you go to the airport.

That’s for amateurs. Serious fliers use the lounge.

You can even use the Q lounge for jetstar flights!

You use the Virgin lounge for that. It has the benefit of having slightly better food than the Q lounges.

I remember the good old days when the Qantas lounge was decent. Actually, it started off as an Australian Airlines lounge – Flightdeck. Was bloody brilliant. I still have the same number 53458, so I was a fairly early adopter. It’s quite funny now whenever I quote that number at a desk. I get a funny look and “that’s no enough numbers” :)

BTW, you can buy an ultra-cheap Virgin fare and buy a meal at the airport cafe and still come out of it cheaper than buying a Qantas fare. And you’ll get a better meal.

However, if you insist on having a complimentary meal on Virgin, then grab the “Flexi-fare”, which will get you the meal (well, a sandwich and a drink) and still end up with a better meal and a cheaper ticket than the Qantas equivalent.

I fly more Jetstar than either Q or V nowadays*, and I have had 4 flights in a row that I have had nothing to complain about.
