Did anyone else watch ‘food inc’ on sbs last night?
I watched it again and although I have watched many similar stories and docos, this one seemed to hit home, well it affected me more than any of the other docos on where our food comes from and how it is grown and how it is treated.
I think it’s because whilst others readily tell us what not to do, this one tells us what to do, and shows examples. I hardly buy green groceries anymore, but meat and other things like flour and tea, coffee and dried pulses I had to. But I think now I will try much harder to find better sources, locally, and eat more according to seasons. I no longer buy citrus out of season. In fact I no longer buy half the produce I once did. But I could still do more.

Yes. I’ve long tried to stick to homegrown or local in season. I rarely buy much at all. Some flour, sugar, salt, coffee.

Gave up meat completely by 1974.
