A book called ‘Australian Rainforest Fruits – A Field Guide’ is being released this week, profiling some 500 of the most common found in Australia’s eastern rainforests, plus some rarer species.

The guide, put together by husband and wife team Wendy and Bill Cooper, arranges species by colour, size and form.

Each species description is accompanied by a leaf drawing and a distribution map.

The original book used to have notes on their edibility, but the latter editions no longer do, apparently due to liability issues.

It’s pretty difficult lugging the full book around in the rainforest :)
