I would not be part of this forum , or as so interested in science,
if it was not for some crazy science nerd named Karl.

Kudos for bringing science minded people together.

I agree.

I first came to the forums ‘cause I wanted to know what the morning show host Jen Oldershaw looked like. She sounded sexy, and never more so than when she was talking with Dr Karl.

Dr Karl sounded sexy too, with all his science and knowledge and shit.

And there was the forum, packed full of sexy science geeks talking about sexy science stuff.

I honestly think I wouldn’t be the person I am today if it wasn’t for sexy Jen and sexy Karl and all you sexy people.

I hate myself.

Fuck all of youse!

:p

So why is Dr Karl and ABC science team not having anything more to do with the science forum?

are they losing their interest in science?

or science debate?

science these days is conducted in 140 characters “bits”. posts here are too long and people don’t have the attention span to read more than the 140 characters.

Nope, still there

This forum was never the main part of the ABC science site and, while it is still fun, it’s value as a Q&A “Self-service Science” forum has diminished out of all site in the last few years compared to the early days. It used to attract high volumes of new traffic with fresh questions. Now it is a club for regulars to post news items and debate old issues. There’s nothing wrong with that – and I obviously enjoy it – but I think more than a few people here are too emotionally close to the forum to be able to assess its value to the broader community.
