Subject: Adrenalin junkie?

I have a friend, 75+ year old female, she seems to thrive on verbal conflict, which she constantly generates, one of her modus operandi is to define a problem which she says she has, then give two possible solutions, to the problem a/ or b/ , inviting me to choose the best solution. It doesn’t matter which one you choose, lets say b/ you will be told that won’t work, so you then choose a/ and get told that won’t work either, if you suggest an alternative say c/ you will be told that it won’t work. if you ask how do you know? have you tried it? you will be told no, but she knows it won’t work, she then reverts to getting you to choose between a/ and b/ neither of which she says will work. As a non-professional in this field my diagnosis is that she is fucked in the head, but is she getting a buzz from the adrenalin she is producing? is this why she goes on with this shit? I have met two other females who were sisters who used to pull this stunt, and I am sure they learnt it from their mother. So were all of these females getting an adrenalin rush from the conflict they were generating?

morrie I “Googled” bipolar disorder, and this doesn’t sound like what any of these people had.

It seems to me the only solution is to beat her at her own game. When the two solutions are offered, say “ They’re both useless ideas, what idiot came up with them”

Stand back and enjoy the show :)
