The Largest Black Holes in the Universe
Wait there is a question.
10 billion solar masses what is that in the old scale please?
thanks for the link skipper. I needed to focus on something comprehensible tonight.
10 billion solar masses what is that in the old scale please?
they’ve always been measured in solar masses. x our sun’s mass
10 billion solar masses what is that in the old scale please?

Only 100 million Suns, we need more billionaires.
Millionaires are as common as muck these days…

Thanks!
I just needed an understanding of what the measurement was.
I was being funny with the latter part of the question.
Thanks for the explanation.
Helpful.

Erm … Ten thousand million suns.
I still see BH’s similar to earthquakes and volcanic system ie one minute they are taking in matter and then spewing out bits as they grow and merge with other BH’s and galaxies.

I don’t think an artistic could create a better erotic image than this one of two galaxies merging!
and then spewing out bits as they grow and merge with other BH’s and galaxies.
of course nothing actually exits from inside the event horizon of a BH.

there is stuff that is streamed out of the BH’s though
and things occur when they merge so there are significant events that occur as a consequence of contact with the affects of the BH and matter as I understand things
it is outside of the event horizon though. polar jets, hawking radiation etc all occur outside.

Erm … Ten thousand million suns.
Or 3,330 million million Earths.

Might point is and I understood yours.
The BH is the cataylist for the events. So I don’t believe reasonably you can dismiss a BH has a role to play

A lot!
yes, the BH is the cause. just mentioning that all these events etc…

righteo
Crimeny…
I’m an engineer…
oh he just said a google is a 1 followed by 100 zeros
Downloaded.
Might open a beer and then sit down to watch it.

A giant gas cloud is on a collision course with our galaxy’s supermassive black hole. This will give scientists the ability to watch the spaghetti-fying destruction of the cloud in real time.
