just musing on this subject

what would you consider as mutilation to the human body?

piercings?

tattoos?

scarring?

genital mutilation of males and females?

mutilation might be considered as permanent damage to the body rather than anything else – a bad haircut might not be considered mutilation unless it was really bad?

what would you consider as not being mutilation?

Not mutilation?

I would extend the boundary of “permanent disfigurement” to encompass anything that might negatively effect the subsequent evolution of your DNA and therefore say that “not mutilation” would be anything that would make your mama proud. ;)
