OK, it’s probably time for a thread. In recent weeks this forum has often been (to put it bluntly) completely bunninged. Clicky clicky clicky on the posts and nothing happens. Hanging, sticking, doing nothing much and doing it very slowly. Is it an inherent fault of the software, or due to where it’s being hosted, or what? And do we, the posters, need to fork out a bit of money (which is only fair) to fix it?

Something to talk to cb88 about. Yes it has been like the plague but I generally think that’s my dialup.

Eeek, I was going to reply straight away to this post, but I do believe you have invoked the wrath of the forum gremlins by bringing it up, Bubbles. I hit the ‘reply’ button, and it took at least 30 seconds for the forum to respond.

As to fixing it, I’m with you. If cb88 wants, or needs, monetary assistance to keep the forum alive and well, I will have no problem in throwing in some hard earneds.

That’s what my Dad has – he’s in line of sight to a nearby Optus tower. He gets great signal strength, but that doesn’t mean he gets a lot of bandwidth. When there’s a lot of schoolkids online (eg around 4PM), the bandwidth can be abysmal.

So long as you don’t overload your input amplifier. Being too close to a tower can get you no signal at all.

This is caused by your connection timing out and so you are not downloading all of the resources required to render the page correctly. You can either try reloading the page or upgrade your connection.

Thanks for the explanation, fsm. I can’t upgrade the connection. It is already NBN satellite, which is as good as it gets here. The functionality seems to have declined recently though.
