…in Australia. Seems at least one region is all set to go its own way:

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/1765174/Murrawarri-people-declare-Aboriginal-sovereignty

What do HF people think? I can’t see any compelling reason to object, if a majority of indigenous locals are in favour.

What about if the majority of non-indigenous locals are not in favour.

The SBS article doesn’t actually state exactly where this declared region covers.

The video shows a map.

I mean a majority of idigenous locals in those regions where they constitute a majority of the overall population, which they presumably do in this instance.

I’d be surprised if the vast majority of people within that region were aboriginal.

finally we can have the wookiemeister republic.

maybe we could have set up new republics in Sydney – seems fair, just build a fence around the whole thing you could have the main corridor that would link all the new republics to the port so they could bring in materiel and trade, they could have their own airports. you could have the bankstown consulate in the cbd.

I think its a great idea as long as other people can declare their own state.

The town of Bourke is about 33% Aboriginal, according to Wiki. I don’t know how many live out in the bush.

each state could now make its own weapons using 3d printers

and each state could have different rulings about drugs and laws

if you stole something you might get your hacked off in bankstown but that’s their state , their rules

you could grow heroin in some states and sell it to other states

no dole or hand outs for the new state

The republic will have two types of Citizenship. The Republic will also run a permanent resident process for people who wish to make the Murrawarri Republic their home and a work visa process for people who wish to work on a transient bases.

Ancestoral Citizenship:

Ancestoral Citizenship will be open to any person who can identify their ancestry back to a Murrawarri Apical Ancestor. They do not have to live within the boundaries of the Murrawarri republic but the need to affirm their ancestry. Ancestoral citizens are the only people who can be in the running to fill the position as President of the Republic and can represent their family group within the Murrawarri Government. Ancestoral citizens will be encouraged to reside within the Murrawarri Republic.

Ancestoral Citizens can maintain duel citizenship.

Non Ancestoral Citizenship:

Non Ancestoral citizens will be peoples of non Murrawarri Ancestry who live within the Murrawarri Republic or is a child of a Non Ancestoral citizen at the time of Declaration.

Non Ancestoral citizens can also maintain duel citizenship.

maybe you could have private banks to hold on to money from nsw without anyone knowing, it could be like a new Switzerland.

you could fortify the new republic like north korea against invasion

maybe you could have your own airforce comprised of plastic drones and a robot army that patrolled

if you needed more space you could simply invade but Australia wouldn’t have the manpower to stop the new republic , they would have to call in the americans.

the only way to win against Australia would be a first strike policy to knock out main infrastructure before the invasion of local territory and capture assets like the petrol station across the road and declare it sovereign territory.

you’d need to secure the roads to stop Australian troops being driven into the frontline or dig them up and plant mines

maybe what you’d do is just grow heroin and finance your new republic that way with about 1000kgs of heroin hitting the streets every day

its going to be grand

The territorial integrity of the Federation must be protected.

We could then offer them a treaty based upon terms of unconditional surrender.
