I know Lucky gets one Veg. She will probably help you when she gets to log on again. Maybe BG knows the answer too.

the only one I know of is Australasian Poultry but it seems to be more about showing chooks than keeping backyard chooks although they do have some interesting articles. I bought a few but then decided I wasn’t getting that much out of them.

Otherwise there are some books around, Linda Woodrow has a couple I think and Jackie French.

I’m not sure, it’s been a long time since I bought one. Probably around the $6.00.

I just renewed subscription; $31.50 per annum – that is 6 issues. Worth getting the binder as well – it takes 2 yrs or 12 issues and cost $21 = total of $62.50. Well worth it in my opinion and does have good backyard stuff :) Don’t know of any other mag about poultry that is remotely worth getting. Your council library may get it – ours used to but cancelled its subs. Back issues are also available.

Veg – you asked me for how to subscribe – you were having trouble getting the details. Here they are as promised:

Published Bi-Monthly by

Poultry Information Publishers,
PO Box 438,
SEYMOUR Vic 3661

Phone (03) 5792 4000
Fax (03) 5792222

Costs are as above.

The current issue is June/July – but I’m not looking at it at the moment as the last one in my (full) binder is the issue before that – from which I am getting the info for you.

Sorry it took a couple of days – didn’t get a chance yesterday :)

Binders are issued by same mob as the magazines – so you order them , if you want to, when you order your magazines…and pay for both at the same time. :)

The details are here Veg – use this info and my post containing the address – yes I know it is snail mail – but us oldies have been doing it this way for years! Your parents may be able to help you if you don’t have a cheque book? I actually just authorised a transaction on my credit card – but on a “Subscription Renewal” form that was enclosed with my last issue.

I also listed the publisher’s phone and fax numbers – you have ALL the information that you need. just have to work out how you pay, write a letter – or ring up or fax details – whatever suits you and your family.

Good Luck – and I might think twice about answering any more questions on the subject :P :)
