Does anyone know where this product can be bought in either Sydney or Melbourne???

We have just bought for the elf’s sister in Sydney……….. 12 jars and 6 of these, will be going to Melbourne to his other sister.

We have to box the 12 jars up and put them on a truck, for them to go to NSW this coming Monday.

Be a lot easier if the girls can get them in their own cities…….. They have trouble finding them. We got these in our local Foodland stupidmarket.

Found a recipe for it too, 1960 s

Mum’s Piccalilli Pickles

————————————————————————————————————————

1 green cucumber , peeled and diced
500g cauliflower , cut into smallish pieces
500g shredded cabbage
500g green tomatoes , chopped
1 green capsicum, seeded and chopped
500g sliced brown onion
500g cooking salt
4 cups white vinegar
1 tbsp turmeric
1 tbsp dry mustard
1 tbsp ground ginger
2 cloves garlic ,minced
3/4 cup white sugar
3 tbsp cornflour

When all your vegetables are prepared , spread them on a tray and sprinkle with the salt . If warm , keep overnight in the fridge , otherwise on the bench will do. Next day , drain and rinse well in cold water.

Keep 1/4 cup vinegar aside ,then add the vinegar and the spices and flavourings to a saucepan and bring to the boil.

Add the vegetables and simmer till they are slightly cooked but still crisp .

Use the remaining vinegar to mix the cornflour to a paste . Add this to the vegetables .

Now bring to the boil , stirring constantly for 3 minutes .

Spoon into sterilised jars .

Tell ‘em to go to Coles… Coles stock Crosse and Blackwell’s gear and if you ask any of the stores nice enough, they will soon get some in and see if it is a seller or not…

not at all, if you get to see the manager or someone in charge, they should have a little coupon/paper thingo with a “product request” on it. You can then suggest that the store gets Crosse and Blackwell’s picallili in for a trial period to see if its a seller… their local Coles should already stock C and B’s Branston’s Pickle (I think they make it) and this is a seller in Coles…

Nope I don’t think its that…… the big 2 are aiming at having more of their own brand on the shelves and reducing the old favourites.

Have to go to the local Foodland or IGA for a lot of local brands now.
