Although the researchers found genetic evidence of many different organisms in the ice, the overall concentration was incredibly low compared with water from lake systems on other continents, Rogers said, ranging between one cell to 100 cells per milliliter (0.04 ounces) of fluid. “If does have life, it’s interesting life, but it’s not highly concentrated life,” Rogers told LiveScience.
