NASA: In its endeavor to trace the boundaries of space, NASA came across another breathtaking phenomenon in outer realms of space after its coffee table-sized spacecraft- Interstellar Boundary Explorer (IBEX) captured the tail of our Solar System.

The tail called ‘heliotail’ appears like a four-leaf clover and it offers the first glimpse of Solar System’s tail.

The tail trails behind the heliosphere, or the bubble surrounding our Solar System- created by the solar winds and solar magnetic field.

Years ago, an ex-Navy chap told me about his WW2 experience in Durban, South Africa.

His destroyer called in there, and the local Services group arranged a dance.

But, the local girls all seemed to be very reluctant to associate with this fellow and his shipmates.

Now, it happened that his ship was having a bit of a fad for growing beards (which the Army and Air Force can’t generally do). When one of them asked a lass why they were so stand-offish, she said “because sailors from that other Australian ship (which had been there a week or so earlier, and knew this destroyer was due in) told us that sailors with beards have a…a…a ‘social disease’!”.

Apparently, there was something of a reckoning when they caught up with their comrades from the earlier ship.
