Is there a medical basis for Mondayitis?

Mild chronic sleep deprivation and the remains of a hangover?

Is there a medical basis for Mondayitis?

lack of sleep, alcohol, drug consumption; combined with general soreness, muscle pain, back pain from some form of unusual physical exertion.

That is a good guess for some – I suspect.

I must say. I am curious about what the unusual physical exertion consists of.

For my colleague that was supposed to have a meeting today – chopping wood, getting the blocksplitter stuck, and trying to swing it with the lump of wood to release it. Tripped over another log on the ground and fell heavily. He is a bit bruised.

Reminds me of my hockey playing days. I used to turn up at the office every Monday with various bruises and injuries from the weekend game. It became a bit of a standing joke. By Friday they would all be better again, ready for another round.

I remember my brother was told by his boss, “you are too sore to work on Mondays due to playing rugby league on Sunday, too tired midweek from playing basketball at night, You either have to give up at least one of the sports or your job.”

So he gave up the job.
