Long awaited Newman Road overpass, Geebung, has opened a window into the fossil records just at/just after the dinosaur extinction event. Paleontologists most excited. Remember the SSSFer supercollider? He could almost look into the hole from his place.

Good news. The bottom one looks like very ancient roadkill.

Ooh that is exciting!

Just a question, are they under any legal requirement to tell someone about fossils if they find them in the course of regular construction?

Not that I am aware of.

Though there are sites that are not permitted to be collected from – paleontological reserves.

This stuff came up in the bucket of the bored pile rig, and a keen eyed chap spotted a fish bone and called the Museum. 15m down, so the Museum is hoping they have a lot of piles to drill so they can get as much oil shale as they can.

Mr V, FYI, the site is where Newman Road crosses the railway line near Geebung Station.
