Nope… But I have a tree full of them… There are heaps of Butterflies and Caterpillas in Moresby atm.

We have a cool one in the backyard that when you poke it, two really stinky “horns” extend and it squirts a really stinky liquid into the air. It’s foul.

Nope. It’s the causeway at the local Dam.

They let a bit of water out for the Hydro plant just down the valley…. The Dam regulates the speed of the water that heads down the Laloki to Rouna.

Nope. It’s the causeway at the local Dam.

These birds huddles up against each other on the power lines. I first saw them in Townsville. Up here they’re called Papuan Swifts.

papuan finch? – the nearest i can find in slaters field guide is the white bellied ‘glossy swiftlet ‘ – but its only 10cm and should have a mottled grey neck – oh well.

Mearnsia novaeguineae I think is the common name, if I have ID’d the bird correctly… they are only about 11cms in length… the Telescopic lens was in play for this’n.
