hopping to plant it during the first week of the holidays it takes about 6 weeks till you dig it in doesn’t it?

Pull out the weeds, fork the soil over, rake to a fine tilth for lucerne.
Lucerne should probably be kept ‘til spring – oats, barley, rye, mustard are better this time of tear.
I checked the price of lucerne and the Hunter Valley seeds are about $25/kg from the local fodder store here in Gawler.
