OH I agree with the last sentence: living with a septic system taught me oodles about considering what goes down the drain… does not necessarily mean out of sight = out of mind. I became an expert at dislodging fatbergs from the kitchen outlet, and this is ongoing… …originated with those little Styrofoam balls that escaped into the bathtub when I was refilling the beanbags… They stay on top of the water no matter what and when the septic backs up, they cause the fat particles to congregate and then there’s a blockage…we got through bottles and bottles of Actizyme per year there, and my septic was otherwise thriving and healthy… we’re talking a saga that’s been ongoing for 17 years…
However I digress…and with the backyard environment in mind, I developed the habit of looking for “Suitable for septics” and avoiding manufactured cleansers where possible, using soda bicarb and vinegar where possible…
