Subject: bulbs in pots for a year

good morning everyone.

I have about 25 big pots of bulbs of all sorts but mainly varieties of daffodils.

They are being “held” until kids can plant them in new place.

Is it best for me to pick the flowers as they bloom and enjoy them inside, or leave them flowering in the pots?

I want to ensure the robustness of the bulbs themselves as the first priority and thought picking the flowers and then feeding the bulbs later, maybe as they die down, would be the go.

What would you do?

What would I do? I’d think I’d leave them on the plant. Would leaving them there really sap the plant anyway. If your going to fert them at the appropriate time wouldn’t that be enough?

On the otherhand they look nice in a vase inside too.

If nothing else, I am decisive.

if you decide to leave the flowers on the plant, do cut them off when the flowers are finished as it is the seed producing process that uses the energy.
