Subject: Applying Lime/Dolomite

Can you apply Lime/Dolomite while plants are actively growing (ie by sprinkling on top of the soil rather than digging it in) or should it only be applied at pre-planting stage?

Logic tells me that you can’t, but I am hoping that you can.

I think you can add a side dressing but not at the same time as fertilisers.

You are better off using wood ash. Why do you want to apply lime? Have you tested your soil?

You are better off using wood ash. Why do you want to apply lime? Have you tested your soil?

I am doing that and yes

I found a pile of ash from Sleepy did a small hazard reduction burn a month or so ago :) But I also have lime available
