mine’s about the same as those plans but, no lever mechanism to shut it, as ducks wouldn’t be able to use it.
I think this would kill our current batch of chooks. All our chooks have been relatively dumb, but this lot! They spend all day in the coop. If you pull them out, within 10 minutes they’re back inside. Then at dusk they come out to roost in the trees or on the fence.
Think this is our third lot, and all the others took about two days training. Hubby would go down just as it was getting dark, pick them up and put them on the roosts in the coop; within 2 days they’d worked it out for themselves.
These girls are jist plain stoopid. We’ve had them for a week and they still haven’t worked out that the food scraps are just that – FOOD. If we put their seed inside something like this do-dad they’d starve to death.
