The Hancock Creeks Rd behind my place earlier today. Luckily the fire has been downgraded, but Sleepy still isn’t home. Haven’t heard from him, but I assume he went straight to the fire from work :(

Thanks Dinetta. All good now. Although the RFS have been waterbombing the firezone most of the time since 10:30am so they are determined to make sure it is really out…which frankly pleases me :)

So pleased for you! Hooray for water bombing! And is your Arfer Harf still with the brigade? I look at the firefighting aircraft and think “which one is Elvis”?

None of them. Elvis has been retired and replaced with newer models.

Oh, I thought Elvis went home to the Good Ol’ US of A…when these first came out, there was much made of the craft called “Elvis” and it always got it’s own mention on the news…so I got into the habit of wondering “which one is Elvis”…
Vale Elvis the Waterbomber…you performed a sterling job…

Yes Sleepy is an RFS volunteer but not out tonight. I have just returned home from Dinner/Movie night and he is tucked up in bed sound asleep, which is not surprising considering her was out till almost 2:00am at the fire last night. We haven’t had a Sky Crane this time, just the little helicopters, but they still do a mighty job. The pilots of those choppers are amazing.
