So long ago, interbreeding, hard to say how much that happened.

If you have the skull of a mule, does that mean it is a horse or a donkey…

I wonder when Mr buffy is going to put away this paper he printed out from the interwebs. Every time I sit down to the computer I read the heading “Suicide fads: Frequency and Characteristics of Hydrogen Sulfide Suicides in the United States” It was something he was reading for his ambulance training, I think, because the conclusion says, in part “First responders are at risk when assessing these victims due to the severe toxicity of the gas. Emergency providers must be aware of H2S suicides to educate others and care for the rare survivor”

The paper is not publicly available beyond the abstract. But this link gives a pdf with some pictures…

Basically it is a question facing all studies of living things of where exactly does one species evolve into another. Some people will have as many divisions (species) as they can see differences, whilst others will see the same differences as variations within a single species. This division of interpretation is very common and rarely can be satisfactorily resolved.

I’ve lost count of the number of times this has been used as a newspaper heading. Ten, twenty, thirty times? You’d think they could come up with something more original and more meaningful.
