Subject: Plastic lining on plastic shower module floor...totally Non Gardening

I never knew there was a plastic film on the floor of the plastic shower module. However since I’ve been in this house it has started to peel back. I only ever used Earth Choice floor cleaner (with a few drops of essential oils) in it, but I may have accidentally emptied some cleaning bucket with sugar soap, I will admit that. Since I first saw it happening I have emptied the cleaning stuff into the toilet, but it’s getting worse. This is a very old shower recess: I remember Dad putting it in before I even had my first infant, 27 years ago…

What could be happening? Surely my shampoos and liquid soaps wouldn’t have an effect?

Could be, but why did it start with me? Actually speaking it started when I washed one of the dogs, I used a soap, either bar or liquid…last year. Just remembered it was installed long before I was married, before I “met” MrD…and that was getting on for 34 years ago…

It looks unattractive, and soda bicarb and vinegar doesn’t really clean it up…

because you are there when it reached an age when it started to deteriorate. Not anything you did, just a matter of timing.

The problem is that fungus inhabits such places and cleaning it all well enough to reseal it and still look shmicko is difficult indeed.

Gotta get a new chest freezer first…the “old” shower recess works OK, the floor just looks yuk…
