the Extension SD SDHC Micro Card Reader Cable has a reader on one end with the other end plugging into whatever device you have

cutting off the reader at one end off the sd cable and terminating it with a fake reader like as on the other end should work

I say should, any possible problems ?

So you have a daisychain of hardware…

-> -> ->

Where is the drive size limitation? In the available SD drives, or the capabilities of the camera?

What are you using to convert the slave USB of the adapter to the SSD?

Won’t work. A USB slave needs to be plugged into a USB master, two slaves plugged together won’t see each other.

No, you have two drives – the SD card and the SSD. You need extra hardware to allow the two to talk together, possibly a Raspberry pi could be programmed to do the job.

A 64GB SD card would probably give you about 22 hours of HD recording time (This is just a guess – this depends on the compression type used by your camcorder). How much recording time do you need?
