blue is a calm, authoritative colour …
it displays the right to rule …

Except for Boehner – he often wears pink and cries a lot.

I am reading a book called The Untold History of the United States by Oliver Stone. It has some photos of riots against America in Tehran in the 50s. Everyone in the crowd is clean shaven and wearing a suit.

I learnt a few years ago that only salesmen wear ties. i.e. anyone who wears a tie wants to sell you something.
Someone said not long ago that you can judge how unhappy a man is by counting the number of ties in their wardrobe. It’s true.
The tie is a symbol representing the hangman’s noose.
From a website about the psychology of colour:
“Blue. Physiological Effect: Blue lowers blood pressure. Blue can be linked to the throat and thyroid gland. Blue also has a very cooling and soothing affect, often making us calmer. In other words, the purpose of the politician’s blue tie is to put the politician’s observer/opponent to sleep.
