David Blaine freaks out Ricky Gervais

David has created a fistula through his arm. It works the same way that piercing one’s ear works. It’s just through the arm.

It’s a persistent tube of scar tissue that he created by slowly working the needle through there (on his own time), probably with multiple sessions, more and more each time, until he could make a visible stretch in the skin on the other side. He may have left the needle in there for some period of time, the same as is done with a piercing, to make sure the fistula forms properly.

Once that’s done, he can jam a rod through there without it bleeding in the same way pierced ears don’t bleed every time.

He has one in his arm, and he has one in his hand.

Do not attempt to do this without the supervision and guidance of trained medical professionals. There are a lot of nerves, vessels, and other critical tissues in your arm or hand. You can permanently damage yourself doing this stuff.

I know. Puzzling, isn’t it?

I thought he was rather funny when he first came on the scene, but, since then, he seems to have fallen in love with the idea that “he’s one of the world’s most popular comedians”, and appear to me now to only exude an aura of slightly-superior smugness and self-satisfaction.

That movie where he played a dentist was the most wearying thing i’d seen in ages.
