Subject: Heathrow jet pilot saw high-speed 'UFO'

A pilot has reported a mysterious flying object passed within feet of his cockpit in the skies around London’s Heathrow Airport.

The captain of the A320, flying to the west of the airport, was looking out the a cockpit window and saw a cigar-shaped metallic object flying at a similar altitude, seemingly directly at his plane.

A report on the apparent near-miss, which took place in July, has just been released by the UK Airprox Board, part of the Civil Aviation Authority.

Are they out there? The captain of the A320, flying just to the west of the airport, was looking out the a cockpit window and saw a cigar-shaped metallic object, it has been reported. File picture

It said: ‘Having very little time to focus, he was under the apprehension that they were on a collision course with no time to react.

‘His immediate reaction was to duck to the right and reach over the alert the FO (first officer); there was no time to talk to alert him.

‘His first words to the FO were, “did you see that?”, who replied “see what?”

The captain perceived an object pass within a few feet of the aircraft. It could best be described as cigar/rugby ball-like in shape, bright silver and metallic-like in construction.’

The pilot asked air traffic control if any other aircraft were in the vicinity, but was told that there none close by, although there were other airliners to the west.
Investigators ruled out the possibility that it was a meteorological balloon or a helium balloon.

The report added: ‘Nevertheless, the A320 pilot was subject to a powerful impression of immediate danger, caused by his perception of an object closing rapidly on his aircraft.

‘Although only supposition, members opined that this may have been due to a combination of a possible reflection of the low sun off one of the aircraft to the west, and of the pilot’s head movement as he looked forward.

‘It was decided that, although the reflection theory had some merit, the overall dearth of information relating to the event rendered and meaningful finding impossible.’

Yeah we do, especially at busy airports. A third set of eyes that doesn’t have to operate the aeroplane is even better.

I along with hundreds of kids and school teachers saw a flying saucer. It was during the morning break and everyone was outside doing what they normally do and this saucer shaped object came and hovered above us (some hundreds of feet), but remained there for 10-15 minutes, so long that most kids returned to what they were doing and ignored it.

As I and many others were still watching, it suddenly rotated and took-off at very high speed, upward and angled away to disappear completely within a couple of seconds or so. Nobody that I know had a camera, so nothing was recorded although there had been plenty of opportunity to do so.

One of those magazines – which called itself “The Official UFO Magazine” – ran a story entitled “The Cottingley Fairies: Were They Really Aliens?”. Of course the fact that one of the girls had confessed, on her deathbed several years earlier, that it was a hoax didn’t deter them.

I don’t think “they” cab cover things up anymore what with camera phones and the internet. Then again it could be on the news and all over the net and everyone might think it was interactive PR for a new computer game.

At 00:40 AM, June 8, 2008, a South Wales Police helicopter with three experienced crew onboard was above MOD St Athan, an RAF base, waiting to land in order to refuel. The Control Tower from the nearby Cardiff International Airport had recently given the helicopter clearance to do so as they had no reports nor radar evidence of any other craft in the vicinity.

Whilst awaiting permission to land and hovering above the air base at a height of about 500 ft (150 m), the crew noticed a brightly lit object above them. The crew described it as “flying saucer shaped”. Then suddenly, the object hurtled down towards them at “great speed.” The pilot quickly took evasive action, banking the aircraft sharply. The object then sped away and the helicopter crew decided to give chase.

They pursued the object at close to the helicopter’s maximum speed out over the Bristol Channel until, not far from the North Devon Coast, their fuel level, which was the main reason they happened to be above the RAF base in the first place, became critical and they were forced to give up the pursuit.

While the helicopter was equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, the object was not captured on film. The crew have since stated that the object could not be seen with night vision goggles but was “clearly visible” to the naked eye.

The object was also sighted by George Withrington, a retired RAF glider pilot from St Mellons, Cardiff. He reported seeing something “Peculiar with lots of flashing lights” later that same day while reading in his garden at about 16:20 on June 8.

“I was looking at an aeroplane overhead when I spotted this thing that was in the corner of my eye. It shifted direction very quickly, in the blink of an eye. I looked at it for quite a while, I was watching it for at least 10 minutes. It flew off towards the east, towards Newport.”

You’d think that since there re now more people in the world and many of them carry a phone with a camera in it, we should be hearing more reports than less.

I’d say it was a cloud of denser air (of a particular shape) somewhat illuminated by the approach of the aircraft (both angle of aircraft in relation to cloud, and cloud shape relative to aircraft), involving reflection and refraction, also the cloud could have been moving. Or the pilot had a floater in his eye :), or perhaps a high energy particle went through his little brain and ‘lit things up’ that way. Astronauts get flashes from high energy particles through their eyes or brain, not sure which.

I think the important facts regarding the incident are:

1. It occurred approaching one of the busiest airports in the World, near a very large city.
2. The sun was low in the sky.
3. No-one else saw anything unusual.
4. Nothing unusual appeared on the radar.
5. It was reported in the Daily Mail.

I think that about sums it up.

Rev summed it up nicely. It was a UFO: an unidentified flying object. It could have been any one of a great number of things. Only one explanation would involve extraterrestrial craft; the large majority wouldn’t involve anything paranormal.

Aliens already walk among us and are refusing to share their technology until we change our warring and polluting ways, claims former Canadian defense minister
Former Canadian defense minister Paul Hellyer, 90, declared on Russian TV on Saturday that there are 80 different species of aliens

He said aliens have ‘been visiting our planet for thousands of years’ and are rather unimpressed with how we live
Hellyer described several types of aliens including ‘Tall Whites’ who are working with the U.S. air force in Nevada
He claims that ‘a couple of their ladies dressed as nuns go into Las Vegas to shop and they weren’t detected’
Hellyer first went public with his belief in aliens on earth in 2005 and he is the first high ranking politician to publicly state that aliens are real

just a bit feeble at the moment, I’ve managed to rip the IV out of my arm and wriggle out of the handcuffs. the nursing station is only manned by lone nurse who falls asleep at the desk with a bottle of brandy in gripped in one hand and a revolver in the other.

during the day I’m allowed to roam and I have recently found employment

a few days ago I tried to explain to a mechanical fitter boss that you don’t need to disconnect leads from a set of car batteries to measure their open circuit/ non charging status – he didn’t like it nor learnt anything either. I should have never tried teaching him anything in the first place.

today I discovered that the contractor we have here is a bible basher. he told me I didn’t understand anything about the bible. after listening to him about how much he knew about the old testament – I asked him where Abraham was from/ born. few fanatics of poisoned Christianity ever know – Abraham was from Iraq. he didn’t know of course and grew a little testy after that. I suspect he was trying to convert us. I was on the cusp of confirming my suspicions about this person having suffered some kind of mental breakdown before he suddenly became fanatical when I realised the ward would be expecting me back before sunset.

I suspect I will have broken our bible basher by the end of the week

its rather like a large wall

introduce a small crack into the “logic” of the knowledge they have and then them work on that crack themselves and bring the whole thing down

Glad you get some time out, institutionalization a bit more relaxed and all, and hope the drugs are good.

Glad to hear that.

Well, true it is, unless it has serious leak I suppose and you break in to measure all, or the terminals are really dirty, but you can jam it into the post anyway. I suppose he wants a near infinity open circuit, like the concept suggests.

Go get’em wook, they’ll bend you over and fuck you hard with that. Stay alert now.

I haven’t met Abraham. Good bloke is he?

I pretend to care for a couple of minutes, a little practice to venture restoration of some hope in a bleak world, and this is what I get, I am crushed.
