Subject: Is Python noughty? (and is Ruby tentative?)

I know it was a throw-away remark, but I don’t want to be spending my time doing something noughty, so here is a short article on trends in programming languages:

The Rise And Fall of Languages in 2013

The conclusion seems to be that Python is still going strong.

Ruby doesn’t actually get a mention (other than a passing reference to JRuby), but the link to Ohio.net suggests that it is growing at about the same rate as Python, from a lower base.

I went with Python as all those ‘which code should you learn’ articles I read seemed to indicate Python was worth learning, PM seems to like it as well, so it must be good.

Go looks interesting:

(not that I need another programming language to add to the list of those that I don’t know well enough to use effectively)
