when some one has been band from driving for the 3 time
after they have finished the time they were band from driving they normally have to have a liver function test.
what are they looking for? how is it relivent to drinking and driving ?

Abnormal results, looking for disease and/or suggests drinking problem is ongoing.

Yea, or if they have alcoholic fatty liver disease.

I didn’t know that a liver function test was performed on drink drivers at all, but it would make sense if the person repeatedly claims that they weren’t aware that they could be over the limit after only a few drinks. Liver testing may simply be a process whereby the offender is educated about how quickly their liver processes alcohol/toxins. In future, this person would be unable to claim in court that they only had a few.

/guess

The test is performed on chronic and high range DD. The test given shows if alcohol has been consumed and the license renewal is refused if the test is positive.

That’d be it, indicates likely pattern or otherwise, some drinkers tending not to not drive when drinking, alcohol being their constant friend and all.

have friend that needs to pass one to get his lic back after 7 years of ban.
but he thinks if he drinks nothing for a few weeks then he will pass.

i was not sure what they were looking for.
like are they looking if he can go with out a drink for a while or will stopping make any difference ?
