Finally got my seeds from the market…… so this week, I’ll have my green manure in.

Bought…. chick peas, rye & tic peas to go with what is left over from last years seeds.

Just need to go to the toyshop and buy some MORE bird netting.

6” high i’m guessing.
my mustard is just up and growing slow. my green manure failed basically – thanks to the spoggies.
i’ll be turning weeds in as green manure.

Hence the trip to the Toyshop.

Top knots are likely to do the seeds over in 1/2 a day if not covered.

rather than making a frame for the netting (if frame work would be extensive,) i think you’d get away with just laying the netting over the just sown (and lightly covered by soil) green manure seed. which you can easily lift off when the green manure is already up.

Tried that, birds dig around the soil through the netting if laid on the ground.

Got heaps of poly pipe that was given to me, to use as frames:)

i tried that – the sparrows just sat on top – 50 of them – and picked off the seed as it sunk down to the soil.
even supporting it on wooden stakes as a low frame didin’t work.

yeah – i saw your green manure and you win (this year).
finer netting would help.
funny thing was i grew a barley crop in a nearby place last year and the bloomimg birds didn’t harm it.
this year they have left my peas alone – so far.

you can get pdf output in windows by setting up a pseudo printer…….a combination of a port redirector program (free) called “redmon” and ghostscript (free) pdf/ps interpreter……then you merely set it up accordingly as per instructions here http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/redmon/index.htm

heh, heh….

anyhow…the pdf printer type solution gives you pdf export to all applications for free….some of the proprietary low-end software entails a cost, and can only output pdf from specific applications = lame.

>thats why i cant find a Pdf maker on my pc i am using windows xp. wonder if i can find one.

Download openoffice.org Veg. The name is also the url.

OO.org is free, and is a MS office replacement.

So, write your spreadsheet or written document, then “Export As PDF”, under the File menu. Easy.
