Here’s something I had to search for to find out…

Where can I recycle my ‘green’ reusable bags?

‘Green’ (polypropylene) bags can be recycled at your local Coles and Bi-Lo stores. Make sure the bag is free of receipts and food scraps and simply place it in the plastic bag recycling bin at the front of the store.

apparently they are fully recyclable. you would think they would make more noise about this.

I agree bg. All I’ve heard is that they are not biodegradable.
I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I am very good at taking the bags in the car to the shops but can I remember to take them in with me ???!!!
I have suggested to people at the checkouts that signs in the car park to remind people to use their bags would be helpful bet …. I guess the checkout people don’t have any influence even if they care.

Crinkle i agree with you we have bags in all the cars, and we always forget to take them in with us but we take them to the shops.

I can have them hanging off the shopping trolley and STILL forget to give them to the checkout person BEFORE they start stuffing my shopping in plastic bags!

One of our local shopping centres does have signs up in the car park. Can’t remember which one now. If shops just didnt’ have plastic bags we’d all remember. I remember to take my bags to Aldi and to the markets (take my own trolley to markets and avoid bags all together). The only reason I forget for the other stupidmarkets (I love that phrase) is that I don’t need them.

While in the city the other day we nicked into Coles to buy a bottle of water. I saw a older guy pick up a fist full of stupidmarket plastic bags and walk out the shop. He was caught and told to put them back…. not sure what he wanted them for and said he’d pay for them if he had too….left empty handed.
