I have been around Australia twice, plus travelled extensively within the country and the thing I miss are the forests of North Queensland, which I must return. The cool forests, ferns, epiphytes and clear streams, when compared to the openness of WA, the exposure and heat, the small leaves of the plants and few if any streams.

Don’t think I would enjoy it so much in summer, but winter/spring would be perfect.

In much of southern Australia.. autumn/spring equals or betters anywhere in the known world.

Boring but important: Before you die, prepare a will and update it whenever circumstances change (e.g. kids come along, marriage, divorce, buy a Picasso original etc).

DA excellent advise, I would also add an enduring power of attorney, and enduring power of medical attorney, some people also wear a “Do not resusicate” medallion around their necks.

Well I’ve picked up the parcel and it’s strings for the psaltery. Most of them, anyway (two sets of ghuzeng strings from China. There are more coming from the US). I just hope they’re long enough. I’ll check them shortly.
