There were two lots of these quite persistent, odd radar images captured at Perth today. I’m inclined to agree with the wookie: a radar-baffling chaff test. Below are the archived images:

Certainly rather odd, I expect if BOM has been hacked they will tell us…no wait they probably won’t. It will be consigned to one of those many mysteries we have no answer to in our journey through life. Unless it does prove to be bogroll stealing aliens after all and then we will all know about it eventually.

Probably chaff from a military plane, or a smoke screen from a military ship.

Apparently there were navy and airforce exercises in the area on the day those squiggles appeared. Most likely explanation is chaff disbursement to interrupt radars.
