I have always wondered what do billionaires spend their money on.

Lets start with a mansion 50 mil
A private jet with staff on call 30 mil
A good boat with staff on call 30 mil
Staff everywhere 10 mil
Racehorses 10 mil
Gambling 10 mil
So now I am struggling to get past 140 mil.

No matter how much I try to spend my wealth I can’t except to invest and try to make more.

What point is there to having too much?

I think that most billionaires don’t actually have their wealth in the form of large bags of cash.
Except of course Scrooge McDuck.

I’d start spending on things which interest me.

I’d buy every privatised railway in the country and rebuild it into a national network, with the key lines double-gauged, and introduce some hi-tech computerised road-railer hiring system.

Then I’d investigate mass production of ships through robotic and automated construction.

As a hobby I’d build a modern-day Jacques Cousteau type ocean science program.

By Christmas next, I’d file for bankruptcy.

Airport run this morning, dropping CS off for another week..

It’s a cool 25 degrees with 95% r/h and it did bucket down over night. Lots of toads on the roads.

with computer aided design, 3d apps at home, 3D printing, scalable automated manufacturing, this is this is the way to go in the near future

This might be beyond the scope of your average billionaire. And there is a lot more to making a car than the robotic assembly. The Australian automotive industry had an overall R&D spend of $693 million in 2011 -2012.

I think that the Chinese have ample resources to build their own alternative energy plants and in fact are constructing a massive array of nuclear reactors.

If you owned a decent sized large ocean cruiser, you’d get about 8,0000 miles on a tank,mans a refill would be around $100,000
Salary for staff on that alone would be over a million a year.

Easy to spend a bit of money…

they should be building massive array’s of solar panels and wind turbines

and look at ways to reduce energy consumption in the manufacturing sector

led lighting

redesigning machines to use less energy etc

For instance, more than two thirds of Tanzania’s population lives for under $1.25 income per day, price parity. That’s about 32 million people in one country who live on an income that is so low it is completely inconceivable to me, and probably you too.
