Collaborate on what? Not science presumably.

Sounds pointless to me. Religious believers are dying out and scientists should ignore them.

I would like to see religion fade away completely, confined to the past of history
but in the mean time accepting that God exists as a possibility seems one way forward, when so many people still believe in it
List of religious populations
from that link
Christianity 2.1 billion
Islam 1.6 billion
Secular*/Nonreligious*/Agnostic/Atheist ≤ 1.1 billion
Hinduism 1 billion
Chinese traditional religion* -394 million
the list goes on, so there is much work still to be done, when so many people still believe in God and we should not ever get complacent with those who want to see creationism taught in schools, teach it from an historical viewpoint and how people can be fooled etc, so I am for a gentle approach, to gradually steer those towards common sense, not use verbal conflict or use violence,
choosing words is very important, we want more people to see reality for what it is, and accept it for what it is, and not super impose something imaginary over it. Intelligent writers and journalists can do this.
Religion is in decline in western countries, so its good to see people coming to their senses, and not be fooled into 2000 year old story telling, imaginary beings, imaginary spaces and so on.
