Yeah, that’s what spidie was down. I saw it come out for a peek-a-boo and got a few snaps. Not really good, as it was getting dark outside.
Our front yard is filled with spider holes. This is the first time since we moved here last June that I’ve seen one of the spiders.

Are you saying they might be the little green jewel-like twinklies that I see with the torch of a night?

You know.. If you look on each Flickr image page, there is an icon, a rectangle with an arrow jumping out of it. Click on the icon and select “Grab the HTML/BBCode”. Click on the text in the window and copy it. This copied text will be able to be posted here. This way everyone can see the image without having to go to Flickr. Though they can go there by right clicking on the image that appears here and selecting “open link in new page or tab”.

I agree that the first one is probably a wolf spider. Funnel Web Spiders are black.

The black cicadas I know as Black Princes.

I think jumping spiders are sooooo cute!

Were those bugs hatching out of those eggs? How cool!

talking of spiders, I walked through the beginnings of a orb spider web and ended out with it on my back. didn’t get a picture – too busy taking my shirt off! lol! I was a nice sandy brown colour. I don’t freak out with spiders but I do have a healthy respect for them and prefer them in their web as opposed to on my back!

Just Googled ‘Black Prince’ and it looks right, thanks! Apparently its scientific name is Psaltoda plaga, and there are a few different colour morphs.

I really love jumping spiders, they are indeed super cute!

Yes, we watched the bugs hatch. Was pretty cool.

Austral ellipsidion. It is a last stage instar – ie last step on the way to becoming an adult.
