If you could change just one thing in your life what would it be? the job offer you turned down? or the job offer you accepted, any spur of the moment decision you knew was wrong, but did it anyway? Someone you stopped to help, then you got hit by a truck? or the truck missed you because you stopped?
You can’t assume that only one thing would change. When you look back it’s astounding how tiny decisions make massive differences to your life. Changing one would change everything and not necessarily in a good way.

Here’s an example: One evening in London I was out for the evening with a group of friends and colleagues and as I left , quite late at night, one of the women asked me for a lift home. I drove her home and she invited me in for coffee. “ Hmm, this looks good I thought” however I had been working flat out for weeks and was hardly able to stay awake to drive and I declined the offer. A couple of days later I met the woman who I eventually married. Had I gone in for a coffee and maybe started a relationship with the first woman I would probably still be in London and not popping in to this forum answering interesting questions like this :)

I could not take that first job that I never really liked, then I wouldn’t have wasted all that time and heartache on her, but then I would not have my current job, or live where I live, and some good friends would be gone as well. I can’t imagine who I’d be and what I’d be doing.

I was in that position when I faced down the perp who stole and burned my car, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere. I had plenty of time to dispose of his body but I didn’t raise a hand to him.

equity is such an accounting term that it is not a good descriptive as wealth.
You can have a huge equity in a business but it borrowed from the banks.
I mean billionaires giving money to solve problems for the poor as Warren Buffet and Bill Gates do.

you need to come up with some method (kill switch ) to stop someone just driving your vehicle away if you are really dependent on it

What I mean is that each of us has our own equity in this planet and it should rightly belong to each of us. simplistic, I know.

when I had a beetle I used to remove the spinning arm on the distributor to stop anyone getting any crazy idea of stealing my most valuable asset.you need to come up with some method (kill switch ) to stop someone just driving your vehicle away if you are really dependent on it
The spinning arm is known as the rotor button.
I wish I never started smoking / drinking / drugs at such a young age. I squandered my youth and health and still feel the occasional pang of feeling the need to play catch up.
That said, I still got two of the three over and done with and out of my system by 30 and had some outrageous moments that have taken me far an wide. Still, though….. What if…
