OK I have got pallets, some 3/4 inch weldmesh, so much chook poo it’s a wonder the health inspector isn’t knocking on my door…I know where I want to put the bays, and I just want 2 to start with: one to fill and one to cook down.

I will need 4 star pickets, won’t I? One for each corner? they are not going to be very big bays, the idea is to turn the compost over quickly … hope that’s a reasonable outlook…

Some of the chook poo is going to be used to build no-dig gardens…

What are the star pickets for? If they are to hold the pallets in place then I would use two per pallet, including the divider pallet. My compost bays are made from plastic pallets and are just held together with cable ties!

Yes it hardly calls for the wasting of good star pickets on compost. Though of course they are the best things for standing things up. Pallets can stand by themselves. As long as they are locked and tied tightly together, I doubt they will fall down.
