seems a waste of time because you are really only shifting a heap of weight to a height and then using it later on to land, parachutes are good enough. if you want reusability then put wings and wheels on it.

yes, wings and wheels gives you re-useability

and rockets and legs gives you re-useability

maybe in the future, wings and wheels might come back again

but rockets taking off and landing is fun! and a challenge!

skylon is really the only way to go into space

if the yanks decided to just give the british the money to build this craft into completion they might just have a chance of manned flight
