Yes the chemist has stuff but it’s all chemicals.

most antifungal preparations are implicated as plausible for use against ringworm. i think (check) teatree oil or even eucalyptus oil could help, apart from the well known canestan cream.

being highly contagious I wouldn’t want to muck around with stuff you are not sure of. I don’t like to take medicated stuff unless I have to, but if I have to then that’s what it is for after all.

Thanks aquarium. Teatree really burns the skin and yes good old canestan. I actually heard there is a concoction of herbs and minerals that work from the inside but don’t know which ones they are. I rang our naturopath today and her recorded message said she was booked ‘til 28/8!!!

Just in case anyone wants to know ……………
1. Lemon juice is great for ringworm. It has antifungal properties and also seals the skin from the air so the ringworm is starved of oxygen.
2. Thyme steeped in white vinegar is good, if you don’t mind smelling of fish and chips.
3. Thuja pillules (homoeopathic tiny white round balls) work from the inside.
4. Essential oils of lemon, pachouli, rosemary, lavender, geranium, myrrh, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree are all anti fungal.
Tea tree in particular burns the skin if used neat. Others may be too strong also depending on the skin.
