Subject: shades of shame's contempt

Been considering narcissism, both the pathology of individuals, but more the regular variety perhaps stretching the boundaries of normal, the cultural influences that might tend it, that sort of thing.

The idea sort of goes as follows.

That cultural expectations (competitiveness say) pushes peoples’ expectations to extremes, and that the ‘normal disappointments’ are not normal because they originate from something extreme, that these potentially go through some conversion.

Take Media, everything from the film industry to TV series and news services. There’s ego and money involved, they want attention, want to be affectual/influentual. Where do the frustrations and disappointments go, even the shades of shame.

What do we get if the normal shades of shame give way to a ‘shame aversion’.

I think it transforms into a high-level contempt of sorts. The orders of intentionality involved are complex, involving feedback or mediation factors via media/culture too, amongst this a lot of conversion/dissemblance.

Above is a brief bordering crude summary, but may provide the gist.
