The thread title is misleading. It should read:
“Scientists Finally Unlock The Secrets Behind HIGH-TEMPERATURE Superconductivity”.

Superconductivity at low temperatures was well understood a long time ago. To be precise, in the year 1957. But the copper oxide based high temperature superconductors discovered since 1987 broke all the rules, and nobody had any real understanding of how they worked. Until now … perhaps.
