I’ve been having fun with this new feature. Our house comes up very quickly, and I’ve looked up a lot of friends’ places . More useful to me is to type in the address of somewhere I’m going where I’ve never been before. You can move around and approach from different angles, and print out a map of the area if you wish. Really useful. The other side of the coin is that it can be perceived as an invasion of privacy, but I don’t look at it like that.

they have had it in America now for a while. It is nothing that can’t be seen if you drive by anyway. It’s just that it is on the net now!

handy if you want to look up an area you need to visit and are not familiar with. I get lost easily as I can never remember left and right lol.

helps you identify landmarks etc. I get confused at some major intersections when the reality lools nothing like the map!

I’m trying hard not to open Google Earth today. Spent waaaaaaaaaay too long playing with Street View yesterday :)

I can’t believe how good the rural coverage is!!

I agree with you guys, it’s fantastic for planning a trip somewhere you haven’t been before. Particularly when you get directions like “turn right at the big shed”.

It’s weird looking at the Perth photos – it’s obviously the middle of summer, all the verges are dead and the sky is so bright and blue.. sorry Lucky but it really makes me crave summer!! (as long as I get my retic in by then :D)

I read in the paper this morning that if anyone objects to their place being on the system they can contact Google and have it removed. No sweat.

That’s how I feel too. Nobody can find you unless they have your addy, and then they could drive past anyway.
