I don’t think I am going to do well with my tomatoes this year.:(

Already the plants are starting to die off:(

I have put it down to the drought (everyone is blaming this and so why not me) , my time spent elsewhere caring for the elf and the trip to Sydney when they were first put in.

I am hoping the winter crops of other vegies will make up for the dismal summer crops.:)

Well the drought doesn’t help and I think its more the early really hot (40C+) days didn’t help espesially with the water restrictions. Toms like a lot of water to fruit properly. The toms I grew in the garden are small but ok flavour wise but the 3 toms I grew in large tubs with water spikes filled daily grew big and juicy. (all were romas)

I know toms need a certain temp range to set and I don’t think we had much of that sort of temps here.

Far too hot…..

Oh well I am not letting it get me down. I just start to work on the next season’s vegies.

I bought tomatoes out at the open air market this morning.

Plus some stone fruits, apples and other salad items.

Its very sad to think I have resorted to this after all these years,,,,,,,,, still next season is around the corner.

Shell bell, are you trying to grow your toms at the right time? They don’t do so good during our hot summers. Most vegie growers try for a winter or early spring crop in Qld.

Just a thought.
