Heyas, I was wondering if anyone knows if theres an organic or home made spray of stone fruits for leaf curl? My peach and nectarines are in bud swell .. I am asking early before I run into any problems. The nursery lesson on this subject uses non organic sprays, so I was just wondering if theres organic ones.
I know throwing soapy water over the tree helps get rid leaf curl , but I havent seen this remedy in all my searches on it, so I’m thinking that must have been a bad thing ?
Any info on stone fruits and other fruit trees much appreciated :)

Thanks Bubba Louie! I’m rapt theres an organic spray :)
I’ll get the ingredients tomorrow and spray asap.

The trees I have are 7 apple , 2 stone fruits and 2 citrus.. I’m not worried about the citrus I know how to look after them, but is there anything also organic that can be made at home for codling moth on apples ?
This area is big for apple growing so I virtually know I will get them.

I heard that growing nasturtiums around your apple trees repels them.

Ok, I have done my homework on fruit tree care and I need a couple items I’ll get today for the leaf curl on stone fruits.
I like the Burgandy mixture. pasted :

“ Burgundy Mixture:

This is virtually the same except that lime is replaced by washing soda (cheaply available at supermarkets in 1kg packets as a water softener).

The amounts are the same, as is the method of mixing. Always use non-metal buckets – standard 10 litre plastic buckets are ideal. If the water is slightly warm the washing soda and the copper sulphate dissolve more rapidly.

Slowly pour half a bucket of (100 grams) dissolved washing soda into half a bucket of (100 grams) dissolved copper sulphate and add more water if necessary to make up 10 litres.

The advantage of Burgundy mixture is that it does not block sprayer nozzles. It is also a little stronger and must never be used on plants in leaf “

But I only have 2 bare knee high stone fruit trees so I’ll have to make up a tenth of this mix.

Found the info on codling moth too. With the apple trees I’ll be using several methods to prevent codling moth attack , possibly make my own exclusion bags, port in jars bait , garlic spray, and let the chooks in there to clean up any grubs now and then.

ps. If I go missing I’ll be in the mini orchard with a bottle of port :)
