As long as we’re throwing pedanticism about:

Wrench:

6. Any of various hand or power tools, often having fixed or adjustable jaws, used for gripping, turning, or twisting objects such as nuts, bolts, or pipes.

oh I have so missed all this “pedantism”.

In answer to some of the questions:

yes,

No,

sometimes,

nah!

heh heh …. oh I am a funny man .

Yes I hgave the front nature stip vegi garden but it has shrunk somewhat from before as i now hav planted a bunch of fruit trees. Soi oin the front nature strip I have: rose water apple tree, carambola tree, 2 x jaboticaba’s, another fruit that is some reletive of the lychee but have forgotten the name, finger lime, lemon, custard apple, guava, passion fruit vines, ginger, cardomon, and a no dig garden with cucumbers, wombok, pak choy and silver beat.

Now in my tiny garden in the back “yard” I have banana, miricle fruit, lemon, pak choy, parslet, mint, vietnamese mint, lemon grass, cucumber, basil, peas, beans, tomatos – lots of tom’s, more parsley, greek basil, more parsley, cardomon, a cress of some description, marigolds for the Mrs Spanner, and some other stuff that slips my mind at the moment.

In the house next door where we “ajist” out chooks we have corn, mulburies, sweet spud.

Phew.

Now I am looking at removing some of the precious veg garden space with an aquaponics system to grow fish and veg.

As far as my nick name I am not a particularly handy handyman and where I used to work I was helping a fitter and turner with some mechanical work and he said I was as useless as a f&(*&^ing spanner and the name just stuck really.

right.

back to work

Hmm … not that long really.

I only discoverd gardening a few years ago,… maybe three years I guess… possible 4. Actually it is 4 years because little spnner is 4 now.

I have also “made” a no dig garden for the kindy where little spanner goes. There they have (and I :( maintain) toms, basil, corn, cucumbers, watermelon, pumpkin, wombok, letucce, peas, parsley and some other stuff I can not remember. The kids love it and I see the other parents being led around the garden each morning when I get to do the drop off and pick up of little spanner.

Oh by the way old GA’ers. Little girl spanner has a 12 month old brother spanner.

too late by far …. daught5er spanner is going to be tall and son spanner is going to be fairly bloody gigantic. Should have seen his feet when he was a newbie spanner. That was the first thing every one commented on after they got over the shock of the ugly little critter …. and before you all go “ you mean daddy … all babies are cute” .. well no there not!!! even the mother spanner agrees that he was an ugly bugger at first. Imagin a tiny Monty Burnes with no teeth screaming at you in the middle of the night and you get the picture. :)
