Hi guys

I wanted to say thank you for your help in May with my assignment. Although I never actually solved the problem in time I was able to intelligently describe what had gone wrong with my problem in a report that was part of the assignment, and thanks to your help I got 95%.

(And scored me a High Distinction for that unit)

Your help was very much appreciated, I am now ready to surge into my next unit, Computer Science Methods (and more of the same).

oh and ps – also thanks to dv and Reg Dodgson for making me laugh while I was fusspotting about the damn thing :P

Since I managed to get 90% of the code to work and aced the exam and my other two assignments :P

They’ve made it tough cough. In my day it was “Hello”.

Ok, we had to build the computer out of rocks and sand from the ground up, and program it in binary, convert to hex, put in assembly, and then print out on a cave wall, but tell that to kids now days and they won’t believe you.

I saw this and thought to myself, aha!, I’ve got just the book that will answer this conundrum. Rushed to bookshelf, software section, and found “basic microprocessors and the 6800” by Ron Bishop, 1979.

You would expect that there would be a table of instruction codes in hex in the appendix. Nup. Not a sausage.

No wonder I’ve avoided this dismal branch of EE for all my life.

you guys are fun. I am about to start my next semester and am doing Computer Science Methods….more of th same…be a long time til I get a bat cape and letters behind my name but am already making a head start and reading my new text book….but nevertheless if my assignment panic button is activated again I will seek your sage advice…or advices (as it were).
